We talked to Mindfield Founder and CEO, Cameron Laker, to learn more about the new OnDemand Solution. 

Confronting changing realities

As we continue to navigate the pandemic and its economic fallout, Laker notes that “Businesses are unsure about their futures, making forecasts and predicting hiring volumes are near impossible.” Amid uncertainty, hiring managers and businesses need a solution that works for them. Making hiring hassle-free

Hiring can quickly drain a hiring manager’s time and energy. “In our recent Hiring 2020 report, we found that hiring managers are spending 7-10 hours on average to make a hire, pulling them away from their core accountability of driving sales and developing their people,” Laker tells us. From there, you tell us when you’re available to interview, and our recruiters take care of the rest for you, giving you time to focus on the core of your business. We reach out to candidates, conduct pre-screening, and schedule interview times to match your schedule. You can then use the portal to accept or reject a candidate and rate how well they matched your needs. The entire process can easel be managed from your mobile phone meaning busy hiring managers can stay on top of hiring even while on the go.   

Reaching the right candidates

As any hourly hiring manager knows, even when there are lots of jobseekers, it can still be hard to find candidates with the right qualifications, expectations, and attitudes. Our survey revealed that many managers had applicant pools where 20% or less of candidates were qualified for the role.

Laker emphasizes that the OnDemand portal is not a cut-price service: “The process we undertake for our OnDemand customers is almost identical to the process for Enterprise customers.” One major difference is branding. Getting Started with OnDemand

The OnDemand solution is being launched in select Canadian markets (including Burnaby and Mississauga) in 2020, and we plan to expand the offering to more cities across Canada in 2021.
